I Am Thankful

Another year
Another blessing
Another memory
Turn into gold

Lover and friends
Come together and
Make history
Once again

Today I celebrate
Yet another fulfilling year
Another year of challenge
Another year of life
A chance
To make things better
Or not
But no matter what
I’ll take my chances
Everyday from here
And out

Collect another
Ups and downs
Tuck them in my pocket
And be thankful
I was dealt with
Another hand

My Momma said

My Momma told me once
You can be whoever you
Want to be and
Choose whatever career you want
As long as it makes you happy
It is you
Who will make your dreams
Turn into reality

Don’t let other people
Dismay you
Don’t let them decide
Who you are
Their words are inconsequential
On what you want to achieve
It is you
Who will decide
Which people would affect
Your life

My Momma told me once
Don’t let the pessimist
Drag you down
They are people who takes joy
With your failures and
Laugh at your heartaches
They are hawks
That fly without a
destination and only roams
Around

My Momma told me once
Be who you want to be
Don’t pretend to be someone else
When you’re already
Great as you are

You don’t need a fancy dress
To be defined as a person
Nor a trend-setter
To get noticed
You are a beauty just on
Your own
Even you are in a hoodie

My Momma told me once
Don’t look for love
Love will find its way to you
No matter where you are
Fate is what makes it happen
But destiny is a choice
So love wisely
Don’t let love
Blind you with affection
Even words can be a
Deception

Listen to your guts
It will never lead you astray
If you think something is not right
Then run as far as you can
Question everything
If you must
It’s the only way you’ll
Understand

And when life hands you
Heartache
I’ll sit with you and
Let you cry in my arms
And tell you
Baby, it’s ok mommy is here
And I’ll let you cry anyway
Once your tears run dry
Tell me everything
And we’ll laugh together
On how ridiculous he is
And baby I’ll tell you
Don’t cry over spilt milk
You deserve more
Than this

My mother told me once
You are beautiful
For who you are
Don’t try to be someone else
Or pretend to be someone
You are not
Unleash the passion
Inside you
You are the designer of
your dreams and
The architect of your life
Speak when you are spoken
With gentle and care

My mother told me once
Don’t be prejudice
No matter what colour the person is
And has different ethnicity than yours
Even if they are fat
Or thin
Short or tall
Poor or rich
And transgender
They might be born a christian
Or a muslim
In God’s eye
We are all the same

My Momma said
Open your mind baby
And see the beauty
In each individualities
As we are all unique
And it is what made us
Extraordinary
Learn from them and
Give back to community
Be respectful to elderly
And be a good example to
The young ones as they
Are the future of our
Humanity

My mother told me once
Remember everything
I said
Always carry it in your heart
We both know I’m not always
Going to be around
So live your life the
Way you want
Always choose to be happy
And not suffer for once
Baby my unconditional love
Is the only gift I can give you
That no one
Can tear it apart.

Empty spaces

The night is cold
Without you by my side
The empty bed
Blankets unmade
Pillows strewn
All is left are regrets
Piled up to the ceiling

Memories encompasses
The confine space
Once full of love and
Laughter

Joys that brought us together
Shared the pain and losses
Throughout the years

Despite of everything
We still fall apart

We took our vows
And solemnly swear
We’ll be together
Until death do us part

But now all I see
Is a cold empty space
A deserted closet
And a desolated garage

I walked throughout the space
Scanning what all is left
Portraits hanging a skewed
Waiting to be boxed

I stopped and stared at the photos
And wondered
What went wrong with us

A tear rolled down my cheek
Crying in silence and in fear

Our love was just not
Meant to be

It ended even
Before it began

Little Angel

Little hands
Little feet
Bright eyes
Red cheeks
Charming I see!

You smile like an angel
It melts every heart’s stranger
You are so tiny
But you have so much love
to give

Your tender hands
Brings joy to our lives
Your laughter brings
Tears to our eyes

So go to sleep
Little angel
While I sing you a lullaby
And when you wake up
I’ll be right here by your side

I’ll be your protector
And your guiding light
So follow your dreams and
Reach for the stars little one
And be who you want to be
Because you are what the world needs to raise humanity.

Ocean beauty

When you look at the ocean
What do you see?

I see beauty all around me
Blue ocean with full of life
Fish swimming carelessly
Colourful corals
Crabs crawling
Left and right don’t know
Which way to go
But back to their home

While the birds spread their
Wings and flying freely
Across the sky

I see the mountains peak
From the bottom
High up

Wind blowing
Trees swaying
I hear the whistles of the birds
Singing in sync
With their own melodies

The golden sands with castles
And buckets
Scattered everywhere
With small hands and footprints
Left from little ones

Dogs off their leash
Running and bounding across the sand
Sniffing every seashell and
Barks rapidly

I see the waves forming
And sprinting towards me
Aaah! The whoosh sound
Of the ocean
When it kisses the shoreline
It is music to the ears
Water splashing
Pushing and pulling back
leaving its prints

I love this place
It is full of joy and peace
Every man who walks
In the Goodwin sands
Leaves their own footprints
Carrying their own stories
With them
